Maputo municipal police set for Costa do Sol clean-up tomorrow

Agents of the Municipal Police of the City of Maputo are launching a clean-up campaign at the Costa do Sol beach tomorrow, aiming to address the proliferation of solid waste at the leisure facility.
The initiative is part of the Municipal Police Day celebrations marked every year on March 11th.
City of Maputo Municipal Police spokesman Arsénia Miambo said the campaign would make the beach more attractive, instead of posing a danger to users.
“We intend to reduce the risk of accidents caused by broken glass bottles in the sand and on the sidewalk,” she said.
The Municipal Police force was created on March 11, 1993 in order to respond to the need for a force to deal with issues related to the fulfilment of policies outside the remit of the PRM.
