Mozambique: HCB approves distribution of over €100 million in dividends

The Namanhumbir resettlement village will be completed next month, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Montepuez Ruby Mining (MRM), Samora Machel Júnior, has promised, adding that only plumbing and electricity connections are yet to be installed.

The village in Montepuez, in the south of Cabo Delgado, will be ready for occupation by some 105 families from Nthoro village, which sits atop ruby deposits concessioned to MRM, by the end of March.
There is still no concrete date for the move, however, and even after the transfer, MRM is pledged to assisting in the socio-economic stabilisation of the Nthoro families.

Construction of Namanhumbir village, underwritten with US$10 million by Montepuez Ruby Mining, began in October 2018.
