Four people have been reported missing in the main village of Búzi district, Sofala province, after being swept away by floodwaters on the Tica-Búzi road.
The Búzi district headquarters village is now cut off by road communication from the rest of the province, following heavy rain since last week in this coastal area.
18,000 cut off isolated in Manica
In Mussorize, Manica province, the number of fatalities rose from two to four in the wake of the heavy rain recorded last week.
Rain destroying access roads has now isolated about 18,000 people in the village of Mucuvo in Mussorize district.
The Secretary of State for Manica, Edson Macuácua, says that the government aims to restore access within 15 days.
