Mozambique: 11-year-old raped in Moamba, Maputo province

An 11-year-old girl raped by a 59-year-old man in Moamba district, Maputo province, was then attacked by the rapist’s wife.
The rapist confessed that he took advantage of the girl’s regular visits to his house to drag her to his room, where he raped her.
The rapist’s wife however surprised her husband in the commission of his crime, and then assaulted the defenceless girl, beating her with a stick.
The child contracted a sexually transmitted infection.
