The Council of Ministers yesterday considered the evolution of the coronavirus outbreak as it affects Mozambique, Noticias reports.
By February 3, Mozambican health authorities had tested three citizens, of whom two were Mozambican. All three individuals tested negative.
Health Minister Armindo Tiago said that imported kits allowing speedier coronavirus testing would arrive soon, pending which samples were being sent for analysis to a South African firm which also sells the required reagents.
Concerning preventive measures, the Minister of Health said that the mass repatriation of Mozambicans living in the People’s Republic of China was not being considered, given the high costs involved in creating quarantine facilities for those returning.
