Mozambique: Government guarantees that overtime is being paid
Insurgents in Cabo Delgado carried out yet another raid on the village of Primeiro de Maio, near Miangalewa in Muidumbe district on Sunday night, ‘Carta de Moçambique’ reports today.
According to sources, in a very swift incursion, the attackers killed one person, wounded another, kidnapped two citizens and burned down two huts.
After the raid, the insurgents departed for the Messalo river, near Lake Inguri, where they are believed to have set up base.
‘Carta’ has also established that, since the attack on the Xitaxi village, residents have spent the night in the forest. “When night falls, everyone hides in the forest, and we only return in the morning,” one source said, adding that villagers lived in constant fear of further attacks.
