President Filipe Nyusi has argued that defence sector legislation needs updating in order to adjust it to the new challenges and paradigms of the organization and the functioning of the Armed Forces, Jornal Domingo reports.
According to the President of the Republic, the defence of the homeland against threats of all kinds is a prerequisite for guaranteeing peace and development. All Mozambicans, and the Armed Forces in particular, must therefore develop standards, in the national and global context, that will enable them to address new challenges threatening peace and development with rigour and professionalism.
Nyusi was speaking at the Samora Machel Military Academy in Nampula last Friday at the close of the 12th graduation of Air Force, Navy, cross-sectional and ninth complementary courses of militia officers.
