The Mozambican Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, José Pacheco, attended the 18th Informal Consultations of African and Nordic Foreign Ministers in Dar-Es-Salam, Tanzania, on Thursday and Friday.
At the meeting, headed by Tanzanian Foreign Minister Palamagamba J.AM Kabuti, the African and Nordic countries’ foreign ministers addressed the challenge of climate change and the sustainable development goals, the promotion of peace and security, and promoting cooperation in trade, investment and service delivery for sustainable development.
The minister’s participation aimed to strengthen and consolidate relations between Mozambique and the Nordic countries, and deepen constructive political dialogue with them and with other African forum member countries.
Minister Pacheco was scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Tanzania, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Iceland over the course of his stay.
The Dar-Es-Salam meeting was attended by 29 African and five Nordic government office-bearers.
