About José Miguel Ribeiro
(Amadora, 1966) is a Portuguese filmmaker. Graduated in Fine Arts - Painting at the School of Fine Arts of Lisbon. In 1993 and 1994, he studied drawing animation and volumes at Lazzenec-Bretagne in Rennes and at Filmographer in Porto. For several years he taught volume animation at CITEN in Lisbon. Author of animated films such as A Suspeita (1999), he was awarded 26 international awards, most notably Cartoon D'Or 2000, and was shown on major world television channels. It was the most awarded Portuguese animation ever.
