About the event
This conversation comes as part of the Ku Phanda Street Theater Festival which opens on 29 October. With the support of the Spanish embassy in Mozambique, the theater company “Fadunito” comes directly from Spain to develop a partnership with the festival through a workshop, the presentation of a show and a talk at the FFLC.
Companhia Fadunito started its activities in Catalonia, but from 2005 opened doors to translate and adapt its shows and represent them in Spain, Europe and Latin America; presenting over 100 shows per year.
Ku Phanda means unraveling in Changana, which is one of the local languages of southern Mozambique. This festival started with the Makwerhu arts company which has been in existence for over 15 years and launched the first edition of the Street Theater Festival in the Mavalane B neighborhood in October 2018, as part of promoting the arts within suburban residence areas.
Develop a new theatrical model in Mozambique that allows the various theater groups to develop their activities.
The idea of creating this festival arises from the need to develop theatrical activities in a city where theaters are few and not accessible to the population of the suburbs, create theatrical empathy in the community and generate exchange between theatrical groups (national and foreign).
