Address: CTO- Hulene fair
About the event
One of the oldest and most consistent Marrabenta groups in Mozambique, gathered on the stage of CTO - Feira de Hulene.
The Gallotones were born in 1973 with Antonio Marcos, Aurélio Mondlane, Daniel Langa, Miguel Dimas on the eve of Independence. In 1976 enter Pedro Bye, Solomon Muchanga and later Abilio Mandlaze. They made several recordings on Radio Mozambique.
Gallatones are one of the few groupings with an ever-characteristic style, even over the course of almost 50 years: the Marrabenta. After recording their single Papaiana in 1979, the band became a reference in the Mozambican and international music scene. Their latest album "Hanya" was released in 2009, and contributes to the preservation of traditional Mozambican rhythms.
