About the event
For the Maputo Fast Forward 2019 festival we bring, for the first time, FILMinhos, a short film competition for young Mozambican filmmakers. Designed and coordinated by Khalid Shamis, director and film editor at his Tuba Films (Cape Town) producer and curator of the MFF Cinnamon Cycle, the contest is aimed at young filmmakers or aspiring filmmakers of Mozambican nationality. The films may be new, created specifically for this contest, or they may be completed and previously designed films. They must be a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 15 minutes, with no format or genre restriction (fiction, documentary, animation, thriller, etc., all genres are welcome) and registration is free.
Registration will be open until 15th September and selected participants will be announced on 30th September. The selected films will be screened in October during the MFF Film Cycle and the best films will receive a cash prize.
