About the event
In the context of the WEEK OF THE ARTS, an initiative organized by the cultural producer Vice Versa Ideias, Camões - Centro Cultural Português will host a colloquium on Creative Economy on July 30th.
The event aims to become a platform for reflection on the market of arts and cultural industries, a component that has been developed around the world. Also in Mozambique, it has been a growing theme, while at the same time influencing the lives of the new generations, contributing to its transformation, especially if we consider the activity developed around national heritage and cultural heritages, which leads to a strengthening of the collective identity and the spirit of defense of memory, also collective.
This symposium, which counts on the participation of the Observatory of Cultural Policies in Africa, UNESCO, IVERCA, Social Shop and Gungu Theater Company, will be composed of two themes, which will be the guiding principles of the reflection that one wishes to construct. The first will be around the theme "Cultural and Creative Industry in Mozambique: financing, partnerships and contribution in the economy" to understand about organizations that think about financing policies for the arts and cultures and what modalities exist to contribute to the local context of the concerned. The other panel will reflect on "Sustainability in cultural projects: experiences, opportunities and challenges", in a more practical approach to the organizations that make up their daily lives in the arts and culture.
The WEEK OF THE ARTS is a socio-cultural platform for the formation, exhibition, reflection and development of creative cultural industries. The platform materializes its objectives through a set of initiatives in the field of arts and culture in its diversity, since 2017, and in 2019 maintains its focus on art as a factor of socioeconomic development, youth training, employment and sustainable development.
