About the event
The Mozambican poet and writer Mauro Brito launches at 16 Neto, the poetry of children and youth "The Luminous Flight of Words".
The presentation of the book will be made by the writer and pianist Melita Matsinhe and commented by the writer Alex Dau. They are part of the launching ceremony, the reading of poems by actress Lucrécia Paco and the musical moment by the saxophonist Muzila.
It is, therefore, the second book launch, after being presented to a mostly children's audience, on May 21, in Camões - Centro Cultural Português. This presentation, besides being a pretext to reach a wider audience, is an opportunity to talk about the work of Mauro Brito and, why not, the aspect of children and youth that still deserves attention in the country.
"The Luminous Flight of Words" has the preface of the writer and philosopher Dionísio Bahule, where he emphasizes that Brito "does not isolate himself from the problems of other men. Pays attention; appreciates; feels and invites everyone to look through Poetry for the problems that surround us. "
"Luminous Flight of Words" is the second book of the author, after having published "Steps of Magic to the Sun" two years ago, illustrated by Bárbara Marques, by the Portuguese School of Mozambique.
This book is an edition of the Kuvaninga Cartão d'arte - a Mozambican non-profit publishing house dedicated to producing books with recycled cardboard covers, an opportunity to train readers by making the book available at low cost and promoting young writers, enabling the publication of his works. The publisher now combines literature, the plastic arts and the environment through the collection and reuse of cardboard.
