This is a play by Joel and Nélio, who by the mishaps of life met and live together in the street.
Nelio, who is older and educated in life, is teaching the younger, Joel, to read, write and other things in life. Joel protects him, since he has lived on the street since he was five years old and had to learn to dance and sing in order to earn a living honestly, and also to defend himself against the dangers of the street. Nélio is a former government official who was unjustly arrested and witnessed a marital betrayal on leaving the jail, his life turned inside out and ends up on the street. Aware of his companion's illness, Joel lives by idealizing the ceremony of the wake while awaiting the return of his beloved who went to live in Europe.
This piece brings the day-to-day dilemmas of these comrades from the streets, each with its history, dreams and its poems.
