Mozambique: Cyclone Kenneth death toll rises to 41

The number of people reported killed by Cyclone Kenneth in Mozambique’s Cabo Delgado province has risen to 41, according to the latest tally from the spokesperson of the cabinet meeting, Armindo Ngunga.
In total, the cyclone has affected 35,228 families in the northern part of the country, with 32,000 homes partially destroyed and 2,000 completely destroyed, according to Ngunga.
The number of people injured has not been updated, remaining at 39.
Kenneth is the first cyclone ever recorded to hit northern Mozambique. It dissipated on Saturday but in its aftermath came heavy rainfall in several parts of Cabo Delgado and Nampula provinces that is expected to continue for several days.
The central part of the country was in March hit by Cyclone Idai, which affected 1.5 million people, killing 603.
