About Sérgio Santimano
Born in Lourenço Marques, now Maputo, Mozambique in 1956 and works in documentary and reportage photography. Santimano began his career as a photo- journalist for the newspaper Domingo in 1982. From 1983 to 1988 he worked for the national and international press covering the war, famine and politics for the Mozambican News Agency–AIM. Following the end of the civil war in 1992, Santimano began working as a freelancer documenting the consequences of war and Mozambique’s reconstruction. Sergio Santimano has exhibited extensively in Africa, Europe and India. (Source: www.gafraart.com)
About Mauro Pinto
Born in 1974, lives and works in Maputo, Mozambique. In the early 1990s, Mauro Pinto studied photography at Monitor International School in Johannesburg and during this period he made a internship with the photographer José Machato. Then, he moved to Maputo where he worked next to the pioneer of photojournalism in Mozambique, Ricardo Rangel and where he will be placed next to the Norwegian photographer Trygve Bolstad or Karl Kugel from Reunion Island. About Filipe Branquinho
Born in 1977 in Maputo, Filipe Branquinho grew up as son of a photojournalist who was well connected in the art community. Thus the artist was early on confronted with the work of such famous Mozambican photographers as Ricardo Rangel, Kok Nam, and José Cabral. Branquinho studied architecture in Brazil but was always interested in photography, and pursued that passion when returning to Mozambique. (Source: Wikipedia)
About Yassmin Forte
Yassmin Forte was born in Quelimane, Zambézia, in 1980 and lives in Maputo since 1986. She graduated in Communication Sciences in the Public Relations and Journalism variant and works as Marketing Technician at Rádio Moçambique.
