Police in Maputo province have denied that a woman was abducted on Highway 4 in the Matola municipality yesterday, as reported on social networks, Jornal Notícias reports.
According to Maputo provincial police spokesman Fernando Manhica, this is a “false alarm”: the alleged victim is in good health and had parked her car to go and buy construction material.
Manhiça told Noticias yesterday that there had been no kidnapping, and that the images circulating on social networks were due to “a false alarm”.
The “Fake News” – Notícias explains – reported that four armed and masked men travelling in a Toyota Alteza vehicle had kidnapped the owner of a Toyota Hilux, registration number AFM 650 MP, as she left a commercial establishment dressed in white clothes and a red hat.
