Launch of the Annual Report on Environmental Governance - Terra Viva Center in collaboration with the French Embassy.
Terra Viva Center (CTV), a Mozambican non-governmental organization for environmental protection and sustainable development, launches the Annual Environmental Governance Report (RAGA) in Maputo on April 22, 2019.
The work comprises two components, one written and one audiovisual, and aims to contribute to good governance in the management of the environment and natural resources in Mozambique, promoting greater social justice, equity and sustainability in the use of natural resources.
In 2018, the theme chosen was the governance and development of urban land and will have as case studies (i) the licensing and implementation process of the construction project of the Maputo-kaTembe Bridge; (ii) the process of building the ring road of Maputo and (iii) the process of creating the municipality of Boane, all in the province of Maputo.
It should be noted that the CTV has been documenting since 2011 the progress made as well as the challenges the country has faced in the governance of land and other natural resources and in promoting rural development through the annual publication of RAGA.
The results of the monitoring of environmental governance by the CTV were presented in an audiovisual version, and the following documentaries were produced and broadcast: "Earth, Tomorrow will be Late"; "Quito Hóyê"; "Wanbao: The Future I Will not Have", "Maputo Circular" and "Challenges and Management Opportunities for Marine Conservation Areas in Mozambique - Case Study: Ponta do Ouro Partial Marine Reserve", "Macoconi - The roots of our children, "and" 8 Days in Massingir, "all of which have as their background the community's rights to land and other natural resources and the promotion of participatory environmental governance.
