About the documentary
Using a poetic language, Travessia starts from the search for the photographic memory of the black families and assumes a critical and affirmative posture in the face of the near absence and stigmatization of the representation of negros.
About Safira Moreira
Safira Moreira was born in Salvador in 1991. She worked as a photographer for dance, theater and performance shows at Experimentando NUS dance company.
Moved to Rio de Janeiro in 2014 and began her studies at the School of Visual Arts of Parque Lage, where she researched artisan and artistic processes within photography. In December of 2014 she participated in the 1st Mostra de Pequenos Formatos, held in the Old Factory of Bhering (RJ), with the work "Restless Dreams".
At the same time she exhibited "O Giro de Helena" in the exhibition OcupaOca held at the School of Visual Arts of Parque Lage (Rio de Janeiro). She graduated in the first semester of 2015. In that same year he participated in the Afrotranscendece artistic residency, focusing on the black theme, held at RedBull Station in Sao Paulo.
In the first semester of 2016 she graduated in the film course offered by the Centro Afrocarioca de Cinema (Zózimo Bulbul), where she performed as a photography assistant in the short film O Jali.
She was videomaker director of photography for the ICÓ project.
