The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, is leaving today for a state visit to the Kingdom of eSwatini (ex-Swaziland), in response to an invitation made by King Mswati II during his last visit to Mozambique.
President Nyusi will first participate at 10:30 a.m. today in ceremonies surrounding his departure at the presidential terminal of Maputo International Airport.
The visit of the Mozambican head of state to e-Swatini is aimed at consolidating and deepening relations of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between Mozambique and e-Swatini in the bilateral and international fields.
The visit lasts until Sunday, and will also be an opportunity for both countries to define strategies for strengthening political, economic and business relations, a document from the presidency details.
Also on the agenda of Nyusi’s visit to the Kingdom of Eswatini is a face-to-face meeting with King Mswati II, and with the Mozambican community living there.
President Nyusi will also open the Mozambique-sSwatini Business Forum and visit ventures of economic and social interest.
On his visit, the Mozambican head of state is accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation José Pacheco; Transport and Communications, Carlos Alberto Fortes Mesquita, Deputy Ministers of Mineral Resources and Energy Augusto de Sousa Fernando; Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, Victor Tauacale; the High Commissioner of the Republic of Mozambique to the Kingdom of Eswatini, Luís Adelino da Silva; deputies of the Assembly of the Republic; and staff of the Presidency of the Republic and other state institutions.
A business mission also accompanies the presidential entourage.
