About the event
Camões - Portuguese Cultural Center in Maputo promotes a session dedicated to women's poetry in the digital age, on the occasion of World Poetry Day and the "Women's Week" program.
The theme is "Poetry in the Digital Age" and will be coordinated by Sandra Tamele, the session will be animated by Énia Lipanga and Pedro Pereira Lopes, and will feature the musical group "Revolução Feminina".
World Poetry Day was established by UNESCO in 1999 and is observed throughout the world to encourage, among other things, the return to the oral tradition of recitals of poetry, to promote the teaching of poetry and to re-establish a dialogue between poetry and other arts . The encounter between the ancient art of poetry and the digital age with its social networks results in a paradoxical flourishing of poetic activity, which was thought to be extinct in its erudite form, through the interactive opportunities created by the internet and other participatory media, the poetry to be seen in the social form beyond the purely textual form.
