Tongaat Hulett today announces that two of its senior executives, Martin Mohale, Head of the South African Sugar Business, and Rosário Cumbi, Head of Mozambique, have elected to take early retirement from the company.
In addition, Sydney Mtsambiwa has stepped down as the MD of Tongaat Hulett Zimbabwe and will now be supporting the overall sugar business.
Tongaat Hulett CEO Gavin Hudson thanked Mr Mohale and Mr Cumbi for their significant contribution to the business during their time with the company, as well as Mr Mtsambiwa for his valuable work in Zimbabwe.
Hudson said that the changes in the leadership team would result in new appointments being made to the Group Executive Committee, and a further announcement would be made in this regard in due course.
“We are working on ensuring that the leadership team has the right mix of skill and experience to guide our company through the current challenges by stabilising the business and setting a clear path towards acceptable shareholder returns.”
