After an interrogation that lasted two and a half hours, the investigating judge decided to uphold Ndambi Guebuza’s pre-trial detention, a measure to avoid disturbing the investigations and procedural steps which are still underway.
Lawyer Alexandre Chivale, in charge of the legal defence of the former President of the Republic’s son, said that during interrogation Ndambi Guebuza cooperated with the court.
Chivale also said that the Guebuza family respects and will continue to respect the judicial institutions.
However, he mentioned that there could be political motivations, O País reports.
“If the objective is to sacrifice the Guebuza family because of the elections, let me (Ndambi Guebuza) be the last of the family to be sacrificed,” Chivale said, citing Ndambi’s words.
