Maputo Ring Road tolls waiting for public-private partnership for funding – report

Lack of money is delaying the installation of tolls on the Maputo Ring Road, Radio Mozambique has reported.

But a plan is already in place to reveal the deadline for the positioning of the toll booths by the end of March, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Maputo-Sul, Silva Magaia explains.

“At this point, we are dependent on the outcome of a tender we launched at the end of last year, accompanying the transitioning of Maputo-Sul from project manager to infrastructure operator. We want to establish a partnership with the private sector for the joint exploitation of these two infrastructure projects – both the Ring Road and the Maputo-Catembe bridge,” Magaia said.
