Ossufo Momad finds the silence of the government in the “Manuel Chang case” strange

Interim Renamo coordinator Ossufo Momad has reacted to the detention of former finance minister Manuel Chang in the matter of the ‘hidden debts’ that have damaged the country.

Momad said by telephone from Zambezia that he finds the silence of the government and Assembly of the Republic strange considering the international arrest warrant for Manuel Chang issued by the US government and executed by the South African government on the 29th of December.

Momad has offered harsh criticism of Mozambique’s Attorney General’s Office, which, in his view, has shown lamentable incapacity in the process, and is encouraging the US government to continue the process of holding the culprits accountable.
