It is now possible to transfer money to and from Millennium IZI from an M-Pesa account as the result of a partnership signed by Millennium BIM and Vodafone M-Pesa.
The agreement aims to bring services closer to customers, and represents a step further towards the much talked about financial inclusion in the country, in a context in which banking is still one of the biggest challenges.
Vodafone M-Pesa hopes that its partnership with Millenium BIM will give its customers access to formal banking.
In turn, Millennium BIM hopes to contribute to the evolution of the country’s banking system and the interoperability of both platforms.
M-Pesa has operated in Mozambique for five years and has more than 3.6 million active customers. It will now join a platform that facilitates more than 8.5 million transactions per month.
