Soletras esse Verso by Mozambican writer Dany Wambire
The Camões - Portuguese Cultural Center in Maputo hosts, in an initiative promoted by the Soletras Magazine (a literary project of the Kulemba Association based in Beira), the launch of an anthology of Mozambican poetry entitled "Soletras esse Verso" (Spell this verse), which also marks the celebrations of the 4th anniversary of this publication.
After being presented in Beira on October 30th, this is now being presented with prominence in Maputo, in a unique session that will count with the presence and participation of the organizer of the publication, Gustavo Sabamba, and the authors who participate in this work namely Hera de Jesus, Hirondina Joshua, Lourenço Paulo, Melita Matsinhe and Obedes Lobadias.
It includes 50 poems whose themes and diverse styles resulted from an invitation made by the Kulemba Association to former collaborators of this magazine, founded in Beira at the beginning of 2014.
Published under the seal of Editorial Fundza, publisher based in Beira, the Soletras esse verso is part of an old purpose of the founders of the Kulemba Association, to find a platform that would allow to disseminate the literary works of young Mozambican writers.
The writer Dany Wambire, coordinator of Kulemba, considers that this is the materialization of the desire of the founders of the magazine to see released the work produced by numerous writers working in Mozambique, some with less visibility. Dany Wambire aims to continue this project by publishing other anthologies with other collaborators of the magazine he currently directs.
