The technological maturity of the Mozambican business fabric has increased significantly in the last five years, having accelerated more intensively in the last two years, with 75% of companies now using a computerised management system, according to a study by IDC, world leader company in the area of market intelligence, consulting services and events organisation for the markets of information technology (IT), telecommunications, and consumer electronics.
The study was based on a representative sample of 350 companies working in Mozambique, with more than 20 employees, who were interviewed in the first half of 2018 on the use of computer software for business management, levels of satisfaction with solutions, brands and levels of knowledge about management solutions in the Mozambican market.
This study shows progress in the number of companies that have implemented ERP (enterprise resource planning) software in the last five years, with the most progress occurring from 2015 onwards, when 20% of the companies surveyed implemented a business management system.
The software most used by companies in Mozambique is the Portuguese technology Primavera Business Software Solutions, which has been present in the country for more than 15 years and whose current market share is 48%, compared to the 21% market share registered by the second player. This is the technology that has contributed most to the technological modernisation of the business fabric in recent years.
Jose Simões, head of Primavera Mozambique, explains that this high growth is due to three factors that the IDC study highlighted.
“If, on the one hand, ERP Primavera responds to all fiscal and legal requirements in Mozambique, on the other hand, the great investment that our clients have made in the training of their staff, and with the improvement of service rendering of our network of partners, our customers are satisfied, and 94% of them recommend the Primavera brand. This reinforces our reputation more and more, so much so that we reached the value of 86% which is excellent for this market.”
“We know that great challenges are ahead in Mozambique, and for us it is a great incentive for us to continue investing in this market and to reinforce our commitment to support technological modernisation,” Simões said.
