The Mozambican government has approved an integrated electricity infrastructure plan for the next 25 years, a strategy estimated at costing some US$ 34 billion, the spokeswoman for the Council of Ministers said.
“The objective of this master plan is to establish the integrated planning of electricity infrastructures, which clearly defines projections of domestic consumption needs as well as export needs,” Ana Comoana said at the end of the Council of Ministers session in Maputo on Tuesday (October 16).
Of the $34 billion needed for the project, US$18 billion would be allocated for production, US$9 billion for transmission and US$7 billion for distribution, she added.
