Isabel Novella and Sobantwana
Isabel Novella was born in Maputo, and grew up on music stages around the world. She has performed since 2005, has participated in more than 50 festivals in Europe, including Dunya, Oreol, Roots, Mundial, and North Sea Jazz Festival (Holland), as well as other world music and jazz festivals in France, Berlin, Bulgaria, Belgium , Luxembourg. Novella writes her compositions in Portuguese, English, chope and changana.
Sobantwana born in the valley of a thousand hills in a small town of Tsolo in the ancient Transkei (South Africa). Her music is a fusion of eclectic soul, jazz with its traditional African harmonies one can easily understand where her strong voice comes from. With influences like Miriam Makeba, Busi Mhlongo, Madosini, Brenda Fassie etc. one easily realizes that it is on the same level as these great legends.
