Maputo will host the US-Africa Business Summit next year, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation José Pacheco told a press conference on Saturday, while reporting on discussions at the 38th SADC summit in Windhoek, Namibia.
President Nyusi has invited his counterparts from the region and across the continent to participate in the event, which aims to promote partnerships and market access between the African continent and the United States of America.
Minister Pacheco said that the agenda of the 38th SADC heads of state and government summit was adopted unanimously, adding that the challenge now was for the SADC and the African Union to harmonise regional and continental industrialisation.
The last day of the summit was reserved for the signing of legal instruments adopted by the region’s representatives, the inauguration of the new SADC secretariat, closing statements and the issuing of the final communiqué.
The 39th summit of SADC Heads of State and Government will be held in Tanzania next year.
