Music – Makhoyane presents Ngingumshadza
Ngingumshadza (The soul of ages I am)
"Spoken Word" - Music fusion of indigenous and modern instruments.
Born in the rural area of the Kingdom of eSwatini, Thobile Magagula earned her stage name, "Makhoyane", when she decided to retrieve the missing Makhoyane and Sitolotolo instruments. Makhoyane began acting as an actress and dancer in the late 1990s and later in music. She has been involved in a number of musical projects, including the Double Spirits Indigenous and Hand Made Voices, which celebrate and embrace collaborations of arts women across borders.
Ngingumshadza - It is a fusion of indigenous instruments and traditional songs mixed with modern instruments, staging and spoken word; a life journey of a woman who lives in a modern and ancient world, refusing to conform to changes. It addresses issues faced by a woman, an artist, a fighter, and the conquest of many social illnesses, while embracing growth, love, culture, and herself.
