Mozambique: Rioters still in control of Chókwè

A bus carrying burned down on Saturday morning on National Road number 4, just after the bridge in the Luís Cabral neighbourhood , in Maputo.
The bus carried about eighty passengers from the Nkobe neighbourhood to downtown Maputo (Baixa). According to the bus driver, quoted by the newspaper ‘O País’, no one was injured. However, traffic was restricted for a few hours.
The bus driver also said that it is the second time that something similar has happened to him; the first time was with a bus from the Municipal Public Transport Company of Maputo (EMTPM).
The fire was extinguished by workers involved in the EN4 road works, using their tanker trucks.
One passenger, who was on the bus when the incident occurred, said that she lost all her belongings as her only concern at the time was to save the two children she was travelling with.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
