Arrival of the Alpha Transporter and Crane at Mocimboa da Praia

MV Alpha Transporter berthed at Mocimboa da Praia Temporary Jetty ready to offload the Grove 980 mobile crane and Container.

The Port of Mocimboa da Praia received its first vessel on the 13th of June 2018, transporting a crane and container for the Port in preparation for handling the first cargoes of cement arriving on 25th of June for last-mile transhipment to the gas project area at Afungi, Palma just 80kms from the Port of Mocimboa da Praia.

This equipment is part of ongoing development of the Port in terms of improving its handling capacity for the operations that will be seen over the coming months and years as the Afungi gas project develops in Palma.

This is the first project carried out after the ALS Alliance, a strategic smart partnership between Alpha Choice Lda, LBH Mozambique Lda and Subtech Lda.
