A group of assailants held hostage the owner, workers and some clients, from the supermarket, Recheio, in Pemba, on Wednesday morning, O País reports.
According to the provincial commander of Pemba, cted by O País, there was an attempted robbery and the police are there to take control of the situation. “This is a common crime, as soon as the operation is over we will be able to share more information,” said the commander.

Gunmen invade supermarket in Pemba city
An unspecified number of armed individuals stormed the Recheio Supermarket on Wednesday morning in the town of Pemba, having taken hostage the head of the establishment.
Eyewitnesses informed Ntatenda about the occurrence of a firefight and that one of the security guards was shot in the arm.
At the moment, the Supermarket is under siege by the police.
The assault on the supermarket started minutes after its opening (09:00).
