Literature: The third margin of Rio
The Third Margin of Rio, a dramatic reading of the work of Guimarães Rosa with the actor Expedito Araújo and participation of the musician Lívio Menino.
It tells the story of a man who escapes from any and all meetings with his family and society, preferring the complete solitude of the river, a place where, in a canoe, he rows in the river. The narrator-character is his son and reports all attempts of the family, relatives, neighbors and acquaintances to establish some kind of communication with the solitary rower. However the father refuses any contact. The family, initially stunned by the unusual attitude of the father, becomes accustomed to his abandonment. The choice of isolation in the river permanently instigates his son. This is led to questioning human existence itself.
