Mozambique and Cuba are to extend areas of bilateral cooperation, with tourism the latest new sector identified for cooperation and exchange of experiences between the two countries.
In practice, Mozambique will participate in the Cuba International Tourism Fair in Havana from Wednesday until next Sunday, the first time that is has participated in Latin America’s biggest tourism event.
The Mozambican delegation, which is already in Cuba, includes government officials and private sector representatives in tourism and banking.
The director of promotion services at the National Tourism Institute, Nuno Fortes, told Radio Mozambique that Mozambique’s presence in Havana would attract investment by showcasing its potential to the more than 3,000 representatives and exhibitors from around the world.
Contacted by Radio Moçambique, the Cuban Ambassador to Mozambique, Pavel Diaz Hernandez, said that the two countries were opening a new page in bilateral relations.
This Thursday, the Director of Training Services at INATUR, Analadya Loureiro, will deliver a talk entitled “Perspectives in Mozambique’s Tourist Development”, aiming at boosting the new partnership with Cuba.
