The National Inspectorate of Economic Activities (INAE) convened a press conference on Monday to report on its activities in the first quarter of 2018.
During this period 5,626 entities were inspected, the INAE suspending 49 of these.
Fines of more than 24 million meticais were handed out, with just two million having so far been paid.
Without giving reasons, the INAE reported that the ‘Kulaya’ operation, aimed at sensitising merchants to the sale of fortified products and Portuguese labelling, had been suspended, with no date for resumption as yet in prospect.
