Mozambique ratifies air transport agreement with India

Mozambique has ratified an air transport agreement with India, laying the groundwork for direct and regular flights between the two countries, a government source has revealed.
As well as covering other operational matters, the document approved on Tuesday in the Council of Ministers grants the airlines of both countries the right to international traffic in passengers and cargo,
It includes the sale of services, as well as commercial cooperation in the management of aircraft, their components and consumables.
The agreement was drafted and signed in January by Mozambican Transport and Communications Minister Carlos Mesquita and Indian Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Pusapat.
So far no party in interested establishing direct links between the two countries has come forward, a source from the Civil Aviation Institute of Mozambique told Lusa.
