EPA Administrator Regan inaugurates U.S. Embassy air quality monitor in Maputo, Mozambique
The heat registered on Tuesday (14) was due to increase during the morning of Wednesday (15) but the National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) predicts the occurrence of strong winds with intensity that can reach 80 kilometres per hour, accompanied by moderate to strong rains (between 30 and 50 millimetres in 24 hours) and severe thunderstorms (with a probability of hail ) from the late afternoon in some districts of Inhambane, Gaza and Maputo provinces.
The weather change should have its focus on the districts of Zavala, Inharrime, Jangamo, Panda, Homoíne and the cities of Maxixe and Inhambane (Inhambane Province); the districts of Bilene, Chókwè, Guijá, Chibuto Mandlakazi and Xai-Xai (in the Province of Gaza); and in the districts of Boane, Namaacha, Marracuene, Manhiça, Moamba, Magude and Maputo and Matola (Maputo Province).
In a statement, INAM points out that “the same system may affect some districts located in the southern part of the provinces of Manica and Sofala in the early hours of Thursday (16).
Meanwhile, for the provinces of Niassa, Cabo Delgado and Nampula, INAM forecasts a partly cloudy sky, with a mosty cloudy period. Chance of light rain or drizzle. Northeast wind weak to moderate.
In the provinces of Tete, Zambézia, Manica and Sofala INAM forecasts cloudy, partly cloudy skies. Chance of light rain with thunder and rain. Wind from east to northeast weak to moderate, with strong gusts at times.
