A weather alert has been issued for Zambézia, Nampula and Sofala.
The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) forecasts winds with speeds of up to 70 kilometres per hour between parallels 14 to 20 degrees South in the next 24 hours, with waves as high as 4.5 metres.
