The water supply to the Mozambican capital, Maputo, is to return to normal from Wednesday, the authorities said on Tuesday.
The reduction to around 20% of the normal flow has been imposed since the 8th, after a part of a bridge on the outskirts of Maputo collapsed, causing the rupture of two pipes.
The metallic structure supporting the pipes has been restored, and today tests are taking place in the supply piping.
According to local services, with the conclusion of the works, 240,000 cubic metres of water per day will be supplied again, that is, the production capacity of the Umbelúzi Water Treatment Plant.
