Tomorrow is the thirty-second anniversary of the death of former Mozambican president Samora Machel. He died on the 19th October 1986 under mysterious circumstances when their Tupolev 134 plane crashed into the Lebombo Mountains in South Africa, after allegedly following a false beacon.
Tonight Graca Machel is in Houghton at the launch of a book on the life of Samora Machel by Mozambican photo journalist Kok Nam. The event is being hosted by the Nelson Mandela Foundation and the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation.
