Mozambique: Maputo City Council wants to formalise the 'boleia paga' business

The National Inspectorate of Economic Activities (INAE) fined more than 30 commercial establishments during the festive season for selling out of date, damaged or underweight products and not displaying prices.
The information was released on Tuesday by the Deputy Inspector General, Acácio Foia, who said that INAE set up 85 inspection brigades and 12 pickets throughout the country during the Christmas and New Year festivities. These brigades and pickets supervised 937 establishments, among them supermarkets, tourist attractions and stores.
The revenue from the fines is put at 309,000 meticais so far.
