Officers from Mozambique’s Defence and Security forces, criminal investigation agents, public prosecutors and judges have gathered in the city of Pemba for a training course on combating terrorism.
Simulation of investigating and prosecuting terrorism-related cases are among the topics covered in the programme, which has the support of the United Nations and Canada.
The project began in 2019 with the aim of preventing a perceived global threat.
This is the third project training course to take place in Mozambique, and the second to take place in Pemba, the capital of Cabo Delgado.
The United Nations support is arranged through UNODC, its office for combatting drug trafficking and organised crime.
