The High Commission of the United Republic of Tanzania in Maputo has opened a book of condolences for victims of last week’s Lake Victoria ferry disaster.
“On 20th September, a passenger ferry on Tanzania’s Lake Victoria capsized with 265 passengers on board,” a communique reads. “Only 41 passengers were rescued alive, with the remaining 224 retrieved lifeless from the lake.”
“In view of this loss of life, a book of condolences is open for signature at the Tanzanian High Commission in Maputo,” from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. today [27 September].
