Passenger carriers continue to transport hidden passengers despite restrictive measures aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus. Transporters in turn accuse passengers of invading buses.
‘Crouching in times of pandemic! Everything that the coronavirus does not want’ can be seen in the amateur video below, which shows passengers hiding in a Baixa-Zimpeto bus.
Mr. Agostinho lost his driving license for overcrowding, but guilt never dies a spinster, and transporters retort that passengers themselves force their way onto the buses.
Others still speak of losing money on the business.
Some passengers recognize the need to comply with the measures, but for others the important thing is to reach their destination.
The Metropolitan Agency decries the situation, saying it undermines the government’s Covid-19 counter-measures, and pleads with the public to report all such cases.
According to the Agency, the maximum capacity is 50 passengers per bus, with some buses having 35 seated and 15 standing, and others 45 seated and five standing.
