Mecuburi district, in Nampula province, has had a branch of Banco Société Générale Moçambique since last April.
Director of Corporate Banking at BSG Rui Rocha says that the opening of the branch in Mecuburi is part of the strategy of progressive expansion across the country aimed at offering customers a better service.
The new branch also represents the bank’s commitment to supporting the agro-business sector, which has great growth potential in Nampula province and particularly in Mecuburi, especially for cashew and cotton crops.
“We aim to be closer to our customers by supporting the daily operations of producers in this region, ensuring greater dynamism in their activities,” Rui said, quoted by Noticias.
According to the Director of Banking for Private and Professional Clients, Dianora Covane, the opening of another branch in Nampula reinforces the service coverage to clients and will contribute to economic growth in the province. “The opening of this branch will contribute to promoting financial inclusion in this region, bringing greater access to financial services,” Covane advances.
Banco Société Générale Moçambique has been present in Nampula since June 2018 and has three other branches in the province and in Maputo, with an expansion plan including all the main provincial capitals.
