President of the Republic Filipe Jacinto Nyusi arrived this morning in Mapai district headquarters village at the beginning of a two-day working visit to Gaza province.
The head of state headed a popular rally in the district headquarters village in the company of local government officials and thousands of members of the public.
President Nyusi will go on to visit Chigubo and Xai-Xai districts for meetings with local governments, popular rallies, visits to enterprises of economic and social interest, and interactions with various stakeholder groups.
According to a Radio Mozambique reporter accompanying the tour, the population of the district will ask the statesman to conclude negotiations over road infrastructure projects and the construction of a dam, put on hold for lack of funds.
The President is accompanied by Ministers of State Administration and Public Administration, Carmelita Namashulua; of the Interior, Jaime Basílio Monteiro; of Education and Human Development, Conceição Sortane; Youth and Sports, Nyeleti Mondlane; of the Vice Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas; Agriculture and Food Security, Luísa Meque; Governor of the province of Zambézia, Abdul Razak, as well as staff of the Presidency and other state institutions.Source: Noticias
